Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made a passionate plea to the senators from the Mt Kenya region, urging them to refrain from engaging in discussions about the 2027 succession politics.

He urged the senators to exercise caution and mindfulness in their public expressions, particularly when appearing on television, in order to avoid unnecessary distractions from the imperative task of serving the people.
Expressing his deep concern over the conduct of certain senators, Gachagua implored them to direct their focus towards addressing local county matters, while entrusting national governance to himself and President William Ruto.
He expressed disappointment with the behavior of specific senators, including Murang'a Senator Nyutu, Nyeri's Wamatinga Wahome, and Murang'a's Joe Nyutu, accusing them of spearheading efforts to advocate for his replacement as Ruto's running mate in the 2027 elections.
Gachagua candidly cautioned the senators, emphasizing the need for responsible and respectful discourse.
"They should exercise prudence in their choice of words, especially when given a platform on television, and refrain from fixating on trivial matters," he remarked.
In a stern rebuke, Gachagua specifically called out the Murang'a senator for making disparaging comments, and the Nyeri senator for similarly engaging in unproductive rhetoric.
