According to Daily Post, In a move to respect the rule of law, Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Uba Sani, has announced his intention to comply with the court's judgment to restore the deposed Chief of Piriga Chiefdom, His Royal Highness, Jonathan Zamuna. The monarch was removed from his position by the previous administration of Nasir El-Rufai on May 22, 2023.
However, Zamuna sought legal action and the court ruled in his favor on June 10, 2024. In a meeting with the Kaduna State Council of Chiefs, Governor Sani reiterated his commitment to respecting the traditional institution and working closely with royal fathers to achieve the government's goals.
The Governor acknowledged the critical role traditional rulers play in promoting development and security in the state. He assured them of his administration's support and sought their cooperation to quicken the pace of development in Kaduna State. The Chairman of the Kaduna State Council of Chiefs, the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness, Amb. Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, commended the government's efforts in infrastructure development and security management, pledging the council's loyalty and support.
