In a recent interview with Channels Television, Chief Bode George, a prominent Nigerian politician, voiced his deep concern over the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State. He highlighted the disturbing nature of the conflict and the detrimental impact it is having on the judiciary's independence.

"It's so disturbing when I listen to one group here, another group there, and they have sucked in the judiciary that should be independent," Chief Bode George remarked. "One judge will give one judgment here, another will give his own judgment. It's very disturbing."

The crisis in Rivers State, which involves a fierce political battle between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor Nyesom Wike, has seen dramatic actions including impeachment attempts and legislative conflicts. The involvement of the judiciary has added another layer of complexity, with conflicting court rulings further complicating the resolution of the crisis.

Chief Bode George emphasized the need for calmness and unity in addressing the situation. "The situation in the country calls for calmness, because all is not going well. People are hungry, and they have the right to be angry," he stated.
