Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has called upon party leaders to come together and rescue the PDP from potential oblivion. Speaking at a reconciliation gathering in Lagos, George acknowledged the party's disappointing performance in the 2023 Lagos State governorship election and urged leaders to unite in order to prevent the PDP from facing extinction.

Emphasizing the importance of addressing past errors and promoting unity, George underscored the necessity of cooperation among members across all regions. Stressing the urgency of the situation, he highlighted the imperative to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 elections, despite the noticeable absence of the party's governorship candidate, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran.

During an interview with The Nation, he remarked, "We should do everything humanly possible to ensure PDP does not go into the dustbin of history in 2027. God forbid this should happen to our party.”

Phillip Aivoji, the party's Chairman, echoed George's sentiments, emphasizing the significance of reconciliation in building a more resilient and united PDP. Aivoji stressed the importance of forgiveness, mutual understanding, and a collective dedication to moving forward together.( Photo credit : The Punch Newspaper Verified Facebook Page )
