A report on the Leadership news channel has reported that the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has praised the launch of SLTV, an indigenous satellite pay television service. He highlighted its potential as a valuable alternative for Nigerians, emphasizing its significant role in information dissemination and its contribution to Nigeria's socio-economic development.

Ganduje expressed his admiration during a visit from Princess Nikky Onyeri, Chief Operating Officer of Camroll Quest Ltd, SLTV’s major distributor in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This meeting took place on Friday at the APC's national headquarters in Abuja.

According to Ganduje, the establishment of SLTV represents a patriotic effort to deliver quality and affordable television services to Nigerians. He urged support for this initiative, stating, "First of all, I want to thank you, especially for coming up with new technology that will make communication easier. As you know, information is power and communication is what we are relying on for the socio-economic development of our country, even for security and other sectors, innovations like this is needed for development."

Ganduje expressed his delight in receiving the delegation, noting that both the APC and the current government would benefit from this innovative technology.

Onyeri explained that the visit to the APC headquarters was part of an ongoing effort to engage stakeholders from various backgrounds and garner support for the indigenous brand, in alignment with the 'buy-Nigerian' advocacy. She presented SLTV decoders and dishes to Ganduje and detailed the innovations and operations of SLTV, which position it as a superior alternative for Nigerian pay television subscribers.

"We are indeed grateful to be back here and to present to the chairman SLTV, the new-age TV network that is truly Indigenous, owned by Nigeria and the parent company is Metro Digital Limited. We deeply appreciate the enabling environment provided by the President Bola Tinubu led Federal Government that enabled the successful launch of this brand which Nigerians have really embraced as their own," Onyeri said.

She also highlighted the challenges faced, mentioning, "After much legal battle from oppositions, finally on March 7, 2024, at Shehu Musa Yaradua Center, we launched the SLTV and the products are already in the market and we have over 58 channels and more are coming. This decoder can also work with any dish, and this is something that every Nigerian can afford. The monthly subscription is 5,000 Naira for the Prime package, which includes all live football channels, and a cheaper package at 2,500 Naira."

Earlier this year, the Federal Government unveiled SLTV in March to provide Nigerians with alternatives and enhance competition in the pay TV sector. At the launch event at the Shehu Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, remarked, “SLTV would provide Nigerians with real value for their money.”

Akume praised Metrodigital Limited, the operators of SLTV, for their patriotic initiative and assured the Federal Government's full support for the venture.

In just a few months since its launch, SLTV has gained popularity and acceptance among Nigerian subscribers due to its affordable packages and high-quality service.
