An influential APC member in Rivers State, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, raised attention to the fact that the Court of Appeal ignored the essential issue of Amaewhule's group's removal from Congress as a result of their PDP to APC desertion.
Since the lawmakers were aware that their acts could have legal ramifications, he failed to understand their elation.
He cautioned the law-abiding residents of Rivers State against losing their composure and rejecting the attempts by the former politicians to sow discord, even though the prospect of a state of emergency was raised.
According to The Sun, he said, "The Court of Appeal didn’t entertain the major subject matter of Amaewhule and his group defecting from PDP to APC, which caused them to cease as lawmakers."
"So, what are they celebrating when they are aware that by defecting from the PDP to the APC they have ceased to be lawmakers?"
"I will only counsel the law-abiding citizens of Rivers State to be calm and not give in to the plot of these ex-lawmakers to ignite anarchy in the state to achieve their sinister aim of declaration of State of emergency in the state."
