Luke Shaw has expressed his support for Erik ten Hag, stating that he wasn't surprised by the manager's contract extension until 2026, according to Metro. Shaw believes Ten Hag will bring more success to Manchester United, citing his trophy wins in each season.

Shaw, who missed most of last season due to injury, is focused on England's Euros semi-final against the Netherlands. However, he took the time to praise Ten Hag, saying that he is pleased with the manager's new deal. "I think everybody is very pleased. He's had a trophy in each season and there's been a bit of success. I definitely think there's more to come," Shaw said during a press conference at Euro 2024.

When asked about Ten Hag's message ahead of the England-Netherlands clash, Shaw revealed that the Dutchman sent him a "little cheeky message" but refused to disclose its contents. "He sent me a little cheeky message about the game, it was funny. I won't tell you what it was. Ask him!" Shaw joked.

Shaw's comments suggest that he has confidence in Ten Hag's ability to lead Manchester United to success. With the club's new ownership and Ten Hag's leadership, Shaw believes that the team is in a positive place. "I don't want to talk too much about Manchester, but the atmosphere at the club is in the right place now. With the boss signing a new contract and the new owners coming in, things are looking really positive. There's a big buzz around the place," Shaw said.

As Shaw prepares to face the Netherlands, he is optimistic about England's chances in the tournament. With Ten Hag's message likely serving as motivation, Shaw will be eager to make an impact in the semi-final clash.
