The executive Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara has reacted after Alhaji Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman, Governor of Kwara State, came to commiserate with the people of Rivers State on the unfortunate tanker fire incident that claimed about five lives and destroyed several vehicles.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party is one of the most respected and revered politicians in the South South geopolitical zone of the country. He was elected in the 2023 Rivers State election.

Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara stated on his verified Facebook page; "Today, I received my brother governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman, Governor of Kwara State, who came to commiserate with us on the unfortunate tanker fire incident that claimed about five lives and destroyed several vehicles on the East-West road on Friday night."

He added; "We are indeed grateful for his thoughtful visit to empathize with our government and the people of our dear state on behalf of the Governors' Forum. We are truly strengthened by this act of brotherly outreach and sympathy as what affects the eye equally affects the nose."
