Liborous Oshoma, a legal expert, has stated that Governor Fubara holds the leadership role within the party in Rivers State, not Nyesom Wike, who is the former governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In an interview with TVC News, Oshoma emphasized that as the Chief Security Officer of the state, the governor is responsible for maintaining peace and security. He stressed the importance of the governor's role in ensuring stability within the region.

Oshoma urged Governor Fubara to remain calm, engage in dialogue, and make concessions to preserve harmony. He believes that by doing so, the governor will enhance his political standing and be recognized as a leader dedicated to peace. However, he warned that if the governor continues on his current path, the consequences could be unpredictable, potentially leading to court interventions.

In his words, "The Governor is now the leader of the party in the state, not Wike. Anybody who is saying Wike is the leader is deceiving himself."

"He can be the leader in Abuja; the governor is the leader of the state. He's the Chief Security Officer of the State. If the state is not in peace, it's his responsibility."

"He should, at least for maturity sake and for the purpose of leadership, say, let us sit down at a round table, and for the sake of peace, this is what I'm ready to give."

"And he'll be the taller person politically, and his name will be written in gold as a man who stoops to conquer."

"But if he continues like this, Wike that we know and the APC that we know, you can never know what the Court will say tomorrow."
