Protesters are expected to hit the streets today. This is after last week protest against the finance bill which led to the president rejecting it. Even though the president have denounced the finance bill, youths had promised to protest again this Tuesday with more demands to the government.
According to the report shared by the star news, the streets of Nairobi are still calm. It also report that many shops remains closed in fear of protesters who may loot their goods. In the central part of Nairobi, there is presence of heavy police.
Anti-riot police are seen patrolling the streets with their vehicles. This is to ensure that demonstrations are under taken in a peaceful manner that will guarantee safety of lives as well as properties.
Heavy police are also seen outside protected areas including parliament building and the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC). This is because protesters may target this places in an effort to pressure the government to listen to them.
