According to Daily Post, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, a notable chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, has predicted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will become defunct before 2027 due to widespread hardship across Nigeria. Onuesoke, who is also a former governorship aspirant for the PDP, made these assertions during an interview in Warri, emphasizing the severe economic conditions impacting citizens.

Onuesoke highlighted the daily struggles faced by Nigerians, including those who support the APC, in affording basic necessities. He illustrated this with current food prices, noting that a basket of garri now costs ₦4,000, a basket of beans ₦8,300, and a basket of rice ₦12,000. He criticized the current administration, suggesting that even staple foods have become luxuries out of reach for many, including those in low-income brackets and public servants.

He expressed that many citizens and even some APC supporters are merely putting up a façade of contentment while suffering in silence. Onuesoke suggested that these individuals are waiting for an opportunity to vote out President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and reject his "renewed hope" agenda, which he claims has failed to deliver the promised relief and improvements. He argued that the disconnect between the government's assurances and the lived realities of the populace has eroded trust and support.

Onuesoke concluded by stressing that the pervasive hunger and economic disillusionment could lead to the collapse of the APC. He pointed out that many Nigerians have lost faith in the current administration's promises, feeling that their hopes have been entirely dashed by unfulfilled expectations and continued hardship.

He said: They no longer believe in the renewed hope of Mr. President because they believe their hopes have been dashed.
