Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office has issued a set of non-negotiable demands ahead of renewed talks aimed at securing a hostage-truce agreement amidst ongoing conflict with Hamas in Gaza.

According to a report by The Times Of Israel, the demands, outlined as mediators prepare for discussions in Cairo and Doha this week, underscore Israel's firm stance on key issues integral to any potential ceasefire agreement.

According to a statement from Netanyahu's office, any forthcoming deal must permit Israel to resume military operations until its strategic objectives are achieved. This condition reflects Israel's commitment to safeguarding its national security and ensuring that military actions can continue if necessary to address threats posed by Hamas and other militant groups.

Another critical demand is the prevention of weapons smuggling along the Gaza-Egypt border. Israel insists on stringent measures to curb the flow of arms into Gaza, which it argues are used by Hamas to escalate hostilities and pose a threat to regional stability.

Furthermore, Netanyahu's office has stipulated that any agreement must prohibit the return of what it terms "thousands of armed terrorists" to the northern Gaza Strip. This condition aims to prevent the rearming and reorganization of Hamas forces in areas adjacent to Israeli territory, aiming to maintain a secure buffer zone along the Gaza border.

The statement also emphasizes Israel's commitment to maximizing the number of hostages returned safely from Gaza. This humanitarian aspect highlights Israel's concern for the welfare of its citizens held captive by Hamas.

Netanyahu's office attributes Hamas' return to the negotiating table to Israel's steadfast refusal to halt the IDF ground operation in Rafah, a strategic move aimed at maintaining pressure on Hamas and demonstrating Israel's resolve in achieving its military and security objectives.

The upcoming talks in Cairo and Doha are seen as crucial opportunities to advance diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a sustainable ceasefire and addressing humanitarian concerns in Gaza.
