APC Chieftain In Kano Dumps Party

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and former Senator, Mas’ud El-Jibril Doguwa, his supporters and political associates have announced their resignation from the party. 

The senator announced this in a statement issued Thursday evening.

He said, “My supporters, working colleagues and other political associates, do hereby resign our membership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and all its committees at various levels, with effect from today, Thursday, July 11, 2024 at about 1700hrs.

Nasir El-rufai Reacts To LG Autonomy News

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai on Friday denied sending a cryptic message to unsettle President Bola Tinubu-led Presidency, following the Supreme Court judgement that granted autonomy to local governments in Nigeria.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled that all federal funds for local government councils be paid directly into their accounts.

Justice Emmanuel Agim, who led a seven-member panel of justices, delivered the judgment in a suit filed by the federal government against the 36 state governors.


Ekiti Camp Situation Under Control- NYSC

The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said the situation at the Ekiti state orientation camp in Ise-Orun, Emure Ekiti was under control following the collapse of a section of the female hostel.

The NYSC, in a statement by the director of information and public relations, Eddy Megwa said those “injured are very stable and receiving medical attention at a tertiary health facility in the state.”

The statement said: “Management wishes to inform the general public about the collapsed convenience that occurred in the early hours of today, Friday 12th July 2024, at Ekiti state orientation camp in Ise-Orun, Emure Ekiti that the situation is under control.


President Tinubu Congratulates Olubadan On Coronation

President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Oba Owolabi Olakulehin on his coronation today, July 12, 2024, as the 43rd Olubadan of the ancient city of Ibadan.

A statement by his special adviser on media and publicity Ajuri Ngelale says, President Tinubu joins the family of the new Olubadan, Ibadan citizens, the Oyo State Council of Obas, and the Oyo State Government to celebrate Oba Olakulehin on his ascension to the revered throne of his forebears.

The President affirms that Oba Olakulehin brings to the throne immense wisdom, experience, character, and strength, and urges the monarch to use the highly esteemed stool of Ibadan to advance the peace, security, and development of the area.
