Nnamdi Kanu’s matter security issue, not Tinubu’s, says Igbo leader

An industrialist and President of Osisioma Foundation, Chike Obidigbo, has stated that President Bola Tinubu is not responsible for detaining the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, emphasising that Kanu’s situation is purely a security issue.
Obidigbo criticised some Igbo politicians for politicising the call for Kanu’s release, arguing that their actions are worsening the situation.
He advised South East politicians against compounding the travails of the IPOB leader.
Expressing dismay, Obidigbo noted that some Igbo political elites are mishandling the popular demand for Kanu’s release, driven by ignorance and self-interest.
He added that overzealous politicians are acting out of ignorance and primarily for self-aggrandizement.

The Ebonyi State Chapter of the Labour Party has expressed confidence that only its presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has the solutions and competence to salvage the Nigerian economy.
The party urged Nigerians to identify with its quest to take power and move the nation to greater heights.
Labour Party made this assertion in an expanded stakeholders meeting in Abakaliki.
Gov Kefas receives interim report on Taraba development master plan

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has received the interim report of the state’s development master plan.
He was presented the report over the weekend by the consulting firm assigned with the responsibility of developing the plan.
After listening to the consultants from the firm, Brudnell Consulting Limited, the governor urged them to expedite the completion of the development plan to enable his administration to begin the urbanisation process in Jalingo, the state capital.
Oyo unveils guidelines for treatment of gender-based violence survivors

Oyo State Government and relevant stakeholders, on Sunday, reiterated their commitments to rejig the fight against Gender-Based Violence in their respective areas of intervention.
They pledged at the unveiling of the Standard and Guidelines for Medical Management of Gender Based Violence, Survivors, organised by the state Ministry of Health in collaboration with an International NGO, Ipas Nigeria Health Foundation.
According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, in Ibadan, the state capital, the document will ensure adequate justice for victims of gender-based violence in the state.
Speaking at the meeting, the Commissioner for Health, Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, said the document contained the legal procedure to cater to the healthcare service of GBV survivors.
