"From Frying Pan To Fire" Wamuchomba Reveals What Raila Is Doing With Ruto As Kenyans Are Suffering

opera.com 3 days ago

The Mount Kenya region's voters heavily supported William Ruto in the 2022 presidential election, thanks to the former president Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga shaking hands.

Asserting that the government is responsible for "inhumane and unacceptable demolitions," Ruto frequently made harsh remarks about it. He also promised to build a new administration that would put hustlers' interests first.

On June 30, 2024, two years into their reign, the hustler has turned into a resentful and vindictive Kenyan. Gikomba traders lost hundreds of millions of dollars when their buildings were demolished because they were situated on riparian areas. Now that they have lost their jobs, small-scale traders are claiming that they are unable to provide for their family.

During the 2022 election season, the Kenya Kwanza party made a number of false promises, including a turnaround in the agriculture subsector and Minimum Guaranteed Returns (MGR) in the coffee, tea, avocado, macadamia, and miraa subsectors.

The MPs denounced the handshake between Uhuru and Raila, accusing the former president of forsaking the advancement of his area and sending billions to Nyanza to appease "his newfound political partner."

Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba claims that the Ruto administration has become the Agikuyu community's worst nightmare, despite having presented itself as the real deal when it comes to the issues plaguing the community.

"They have fired 276 members of our community without cause. And if that weren't enough, after passing the National Dialogue Report (Nadco) report, Ruto—who had earlier told the Mount Kenya area that he couldn't cooperate with Raila—is about to create a government of national unity with him.

Wamuchomba claimed that the President was going to rearrange the Cabinet to accommodate the opposition in the administration, which would be bad for the Mount Kenya region, after the report was presented to the National Assembly.

She said that the issues already plaguing the Mount will be made worse by the Finance Bill 2024, which she described as the community's worst nightmare since it will bankrupt them by imposing more taxes.
