Ogun highway abduction: Gunmen release 3 Indian national

According to a statement released by the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police on Wednesday, three Indian nationals who were kidnapped over the weekend by individuals suspected of carrying firearms on the Sagamu-Ijebu Ode Motorway have been released successfully.

The information was disclosed by the Officer in Charge of Public Relations for the Police Department, SP Omolola Odutola. The Delabo junction axis of the motorway was the location where at least twenty people were kidnapped by individuals who are suspected of being criminals, according to Tribune Online.

She explained that there are ongoing efforts to apprehend the criminals who are evading capture. In the meantime, on Tuesday of last week, the Governor of the state, Prince Dapo Abiodun, issued an order to all of the state's security agencies, instructing them to protect the safety of the victims and to apprehend those responsible for the act. It was said by Abiodun that his administration would not permit thugs to transform the state into a centre for illegal activity.
