Uzodimma, Bishop Oti, advice Nigerians on uprightness

Owerri – The Anglican Bishop, Diocese on The Lake, Rev. Chijioke Oti, has called on Nigerians to toe the line of uprightness to move the society forward.

He spoke during the burial ceremony of the mother of the Ex-Deputy Governor of Imo state, Prince Eze Madumere’s matriarch of the family, Ugoeze Malinda Chikanele Madumere.

Just as the Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodimma, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Lady Ekomaru called on “Nigerians to always leave a legacy which will enable society and prosperity to remember them with fun memories.”

Army will combats all threats, ensures peace across Nigeria - COAS Lagbaja

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt..-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has assured Nigerians of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to combating all threats and ensuring peace across Nigeria in the foreseeable future.

Lagbaja gave the assurance during the Inter-denominational Church Service in commemoration of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2024 on Sunday in Abuja.

He said the threats that Nigeria was facing as a nation were complex and adaptive, assuring that the troops were adapting to the situation.

Zamfara govt kicks against Perm Sec appointment

The Zamfara State government has rejected its representative among the eight new federal permanent secretaries.

The presidency announced the appointment of Ms. Maryam Ismaila Keshinro and seven others as permanent secretaries in a press statement at the weekend. The new appointees have yet to be officially deployed.

Presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale said the appointees are to fill existing and impending vacant slots for some states and geopolitical zones in the top administrative cadre of the Civil Service of the Federation.

Lukman: don’t blame Tinubu for our challenges in the north

Former National Vice Chairman (North West) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Moh. Lukman, has exonerated President Bola Tinubu from the under-development and challenges experienced in the north.

According to him, ‘the region lost it during the eight-year reign of former President Muhammadu Buhari who failed to turn around its fortunes’.

The former member of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) absolved Tinubu in an open letter he wrote to political leaders of Northern Nigeria, titled ‘Explosive North: Open Letter to Northern Politicians’.
