Dele Momodu, a prominent member of the PDP and former Presidential aspirant, expressed surprise at the swift departure of former Imo State governor Emeka Ihedioha from the party.

Momodu commended Ihedioha for his decision and acknowledged the validity of his reasons for leaving.

Momodu speculated that Ihedioha's exit might have been motivated by the party's perceived inaction in addressing critical issues lately, noting that disillusioned individuals often switch parties in search of better prospects.

Emeka Ihedioha, the former governor of Imo State, resigned from the PDP, citing a misalignment between his personal beliefs and the party's current direction.

In his resignation letter, he reaffirmed his commitment to promoting democracy and good governance in Nigeria.

Having been a member of the party since its inception in 1998, Ihedioha has significantly contributed to its growth and development over the years.

He said in an interview with Channels TV, ''It is only a few people who can endure the hardship it takes to be in opposition that remains in one political party.

The Nigeria politics is often a game of a winner-take-all all. And it's also like a casino game. So when some people are no longer comfortable in a political party, they move on.

Someone like the former governor of Imo state. I didn't know my brother Ihedioha was leaving so soon but he discussed it with me.

He's a man that I love and respect so much, I know he has genuine reasons for leaving our party. And I believe it might be because of the lack of actions by the party over the last few months.''
