NYSC Member Arrested Inside Corpers Lodge With 1.250kg of Loud

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested Yusuf Abdulrahman, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, for possessing 1.250kg of Loud at a corpers lodge in Kano State, as reported by Vanguard.

The arrest took place on Wednesday, July 3, in the Sumaila area of Kano city, confirmed NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi. Abdulrahman, aged 25, was apprehended during a routine operation.

“In Kano, operatives on Wednesday, July 3rd, arrested a youth corps member, Yusuf Abdulrahman, 25, at Corpers Lodge, Sumaila area of the city, with 1.250kg of Loud,” stated Babafemi.

In a separate incident in Osun State, Ige Babatunde, the head of the Akarabata community in Ile-Ife, was arrested on July 5 with 5kg of fresh cannabis plants. The 50-year-old monarch was taken into custody following an NDLEA raid.

Furthermore, NDLEA operatives dismantled a high-profile cocaine syndicate in Lagos led by Agbakoba John Mmadu and his wife, Agbakoba Ijeoma Chinwe. Their associate, Okoye Ifeoma Maryjane, was also arrested, resulting in the seizure of 10.1kg of cocaine valued at over N2.1 billion.

In another operation, the NDLEA intercepted 350 grams of cocaine in Benue State on July 4. The substance was concealed in an MP3 speaker sent as a waybill parcel, leading to the arrest of 25-year-old Odeh Anthony.

Yves Ahmat Gali, a Chadian national, was apprehended in Adamawa State with 5.2kg of Loud hidden in a loudspeaker on a commercial bus from Kano to Yola.

In Ondo State, NDLEA operatives destroyed 42,500kg of cannabis on 17 hectares of farmland in Ikota Forest, Ifedore LGA. The operation, which concluded on July 1, also led to the seizure of 73.5kg of cannabis and the arrest of suspects Monday Ali, 49, and Jimoh Alewi, 37.

In Abuja on July 6, NDLEA officers arrested Sanusi Mamman, 28, and Usaini Ibrahim, 20, with 1,132 bottles of codeine syrup, 13,540 pills of tramadol, 50,000 pills of diazepam, and 59 pills of rohypnol. The suspects claimed they were transporting the opioids from Onitsha, Anambra State.
