According to Vanguard's reporting, former President Olusegun Obasanjo recently made a statement in which he made it clear that the topic of Nnamdi Kanu's release did not come up at his meeting with the governors of Enugu State's south-east on Tuesday.

At the governors' invitation, Obasanjo and Chief Emeka Anyaoku met to address development concerns in the region.

Obasanjo claims that the rumored federal government plot to release Kanu was not even considered.

The meeting's agenda was detailed in a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi.

Security and infrastructure were among the concerns raised by regional development.

In order to supplement the national economic development strategy, discussions also revolved around economic collaboration and cooperation.

In his remarks prior to the governors' summit, Obasanjo said that he and Anyaoku had invited the gathering.

Chief Emeka Anyaoku and I invited them to meet with us before their summit. "Nnamdi Kanu was not discussed in my presence and the issue was not on the agenda," he claimed.

The remarks made by the ex-president are in response to the persistent rumors surrounding the possible release of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.

The federal government's detention of Kanu has sparked widespread attention and discussion.

Obasanjo and Anyaoku met with the governors of the South-East region to discuss ways to improve infrastructure and security in that area.

They also spoke about strategies to get people to work together economically so the country may get a boost.

Any speculation or misunderstanding regarding the purpose or result of the meeting can be put to rest by Obasanjo's explanation.
