Fubara: You want to investigate a man you had issues with and you are the keeper of his records–Olaka Nwogu
In a candid interview on Arise TV, the Former Rivers South East Senatorial District Representative at the National Assembly, Senator Olaka Nwogu questioned the validity of Governor Fubara's intention to investigate Wike, considering Fubara's previous role as Wike's accountant and record keeper.
He pointed out the apparent conflict of interest, arguing that Fubara was responsible for handling and approving the state's financial transactions during Wike's administration.
He expressed skepticism about the authenticity of any records Fubara might present as evidence, given his involvement in their creation and his current conflict with Wike.
He argued that the public cannot trust the legitimacy of documents provided by Fubara due to his potential bias and self-interest.
He said, "You (Fubara) want to investigate a man you had issues with and you are the keeper of his (Wike) records. You were his accountant, you kept the records of the State. You paid the money, you raised the vouchers. You did everything. You saw nothing wrong with what he did. Now, you now know something is wrong. Where are those records coming from now that you want to put forward to everybody? From an independent source or from your own drawers. From your own table, you want to put documents before people. How do we know the authenticity of what we would see?"
