Eric Ibenagwu, a man from Enugu State who went viral on a social media app, has shared his experience of being visually impaired. According to Eric, he has always wanted to be a gospel musician, but people don't want to relate to someone who has an eye issue. He said that it was his sister who helped him open an account on a social media app, and one of his videos where he tied his eyes went viral on the app, and people saw potential in his shoemaking.

As reported in an interview with The Punch News, Eric Ibenagwu said, "I had wanted to be a gospel musician, but it wasn’t easy because nobody wanted to associate with someone with eye issues. They didn’t have hope that anything would come out of me. I developed an interest in music when my elder brother released his first song. I considered quitting music because the money from shoemaking wasn’t enough, and I needed to concentrate more. I used to sell shoes for N1,300 or N2,600. However, music is still in me. I know I have the talent, and I can do well if I focus on it. I have not given up on it; maybe one day I’ll pursue it."
