Kenya for the past two weeks has been experiencing moments of unrest following the emergence of anti-government protests led by generational groups specifically the Gen Zs and Millenials.
The protests were informed by the Parliament's failure to address key taxation policy proposals in the 2024-2025 finance bill which was subsequently passed by the same house only to be rejected in its entirety by President Ruto.
The decision by the head of state came as a result of the heavy protests from the youths who had only armed themselves with courage and determination as their only weapons to help bring economic order in the country.
Following this events, President Ruto, while speaking on a roundtable interview with digital media journalists on Sunday revealed that he would engage the disgruntled youths on their preferred social media platform known as X.
To live by his words, Dr. Ruto has gone ahead to invite Kenyans to interact with him through the X Space on Friday starting 2 pm.
While people would think that this is the opportunity that many would grab with both hands because a chance to talk the president has presented itself, a section of rebellious Gen Zs have instead opted for a parallel meeting at the same time and venue to counter President Ruto's meeting.
