Chelsea Midfielder, Enzo Fernandez Will miss the remainder of the season through injury.

The Midfielder who was signed on January 2023 for a then club record of €120Million has failed to live up to the huge amount of money spent on him.

Journalist Hernan Castillo confirmed the news that Chelsea Midfielder, Enzo Fernandez will have surgery in the coming hours.

He took to Twitter to say that the anguish he is going through has become too much to bear, and action is now required.

Chelsea has been plagued by injuries this season, which has undoubtedly hampered Mauricio Pochettino's ability to manage.

He has struggled to rotate central midfield, causing long-term issues for players such as Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochukwu.

However, this has almost likely had an impact on players who have had to play there for multiple matches, with Enzo Fernandez bearing the brunt of it.

According to reports, he is currently playing in an excruciating pain and had to miss a match owing to discomfort.

It appears that he has now reached a point when he must make a future-focused decision and take action.

Castillo tweeted late last night that he was scheduled to have surgery today, likely ending his playing time this season.

He said, "Breaking news: Enzo Fernández will have surgery tomorrow for an inguinal hernia since his agony is unbearable. His goal is to recuperate in time to play in the Copa América.

The Argentine's performance has deteriorated in recent weeks, raising the possibility that surgery is the best option at this late point of the season.

Pochettino should be encouraged that his only two fit remaining players have delivered one of the season's best midfield displays.

Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher controlled the middle of the park against Everton in the Premier League recently, and it appears like the duo will be essential in their effort to qualify for Europe from here on out.
