Lagos Police reacts over report of robbers attacking train passengers on pedestrian bridge in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command on Friday, June 28, 2024, reacted to the posts by a man who said robbers now target passengers using pedestrian bridge to link the Babatunde Raji Fashola Train Station in the Agege area of the state.

The command thanked the man for bringing the issue to its attention and added that the matter would be looked into in order to rid the pedestrian bridge of the men of the underworld.

The man, whose X handle is @Excel_Stephen1, disclosed in his posts that the robbers targeted train passengers who got to the station through the pedestrian bridge and attacked them mostly in the morning and evening, dispossessing them of their phones and other valuables.

According to him, the robbers always attacked the passengers and threatened to injure them if they refused to give out their valuables. They would thereafter disappear immediately after robbing the passengers.

Part of his post reads: "They extort and rob passengers going to board the train and other pedestrians. Please treat accordingly, Thank you."

The pedestrian bridge linking the train station has been in the news in recent times over the activities of miscreants and robbers who always attack those passing through the bridge, while police operatives have arrested some of them and charged them to court.
