Ireti Kinigbe: I don't need to tell you what projects I will embark upon, the only person I will tell is the person who appointed me and that is President Tinubu—Nyesom Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has responded to criticism from Senator Ireti Kingibe. Kingibe had said that the people of Abuja were unhappy with Wike’s performance. She said he was focusing on only building roads that didn't benefit the people and that she wasn’t included in the decision-making process about the FCT

However, in a video recently shared by Channels TV, Wike countered these claims. He stated that his work on roads and other projects shows he is making progress. He firmly stated that he doesn't need to seek permission from others to decide on projects and his responsibility is to the president who appointed him and to the people of the FCT. He also said that he will continue to work with those who genuinely care about the community and won't engage with those who don’t understand the needs of the people.

In Wike's words: "I don't need to tell you what projects I will embark upon, the only person I will tell is the person who appointed me and that is President Tinubu. So nobody can go to air to say 'oh, they are not doing schools'. I don't need to come and inform you, I owe the people and president. I will work with those who love the people and those who connect with the people, I will not work with people who do not know who the people are"
