Salihu Lukman, the former national vice chairman of the North-West zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC), recently made a statement concerning the lack of significant achievements in Nigeria over the past 25 years since the start of the Fourth Republic. Lukman expressed disappointment at the alleged acts of fraud and mismanagement perpetrated by elected leaders, pointing out a lack of tangible progress in the country's physical and human development.

According to Salihu, despite the lengthy period of democratic rule in Nigeria, there is a notable absence of substantial achievements in terms of both infrastructure development and the enhancement of human well-being.

The statement by Salihu Lukman raises important questions about the effectiveness and stewardship of political leaders in steering the nation towards sustainable development and prosperity. It underscores the need for accountability, transparency, and a renewed focus on addressing the challenges that have hindered Nigeria's progress.

According to The Sun, Salihu said, “More than 25 years since the commencement of the Fourth Republic, there is hardly any achievement that can be pointed at, both in terms of physical development of the country and human development."
