Suspected bandits who kidnapped a female judge and her four children in Kaduna State have killed her eldest son, Victor Gimba, after a ransom demand of N300 million was not met.

According to the report by Daily Post on Thursday, the family was abducted from their Mahuta residence on June 23 when the judge's husband, Dr. Musa Gimba Dutse, was away on duty.

Human rights lawyer and Chief Executive Officer of the House of Justice, Gloria Ballason, has confirmed the devastating news. She said that the bandits who were about 15 in number stormed the residence of the family and kidnapped the judge and her children.

She said that the bandits killed the 14-year-old Victor Gimba after the ransom they demanded was not paid.

In addition to that, she said that the kidnappers have threatened to kill the remaining sons if the ransom is not paid promptly.

She said, "The abductors, reported to have been about 15, took their captives hostage and demanded a huge sum as ransom.

"On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, the terrorists shot dead Victor Gimba, the first child of the judge, when the ransom demanded could not be obtained."

The judge's family has been left in a state of despair, pleading for urgent intervention.

The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Kaduna chapter has condemned the incident and has urged the security agencies to take immediate action to rescue the judge and her children.

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the government have also been called upon to ensure the safety of the family.
