Day in day out, the fight for economic justice by Kenyans is taking new shapes, with the most vocal generational groups of the millenials and Gen Zs now demanding for a proper accountability of the country's debts.
According to Omwansa Moruri, one among the many Gen Z members who have been advocating for the country's review of the taxation policies, Kenyans need to be given proper information concerning her international loans.
"Let this be clear, that I am not the Gen Z spokesperson. We have no spokesperson and we do not have any leader. We only had one leader and that is the late Jacob Juma.
Our intentions are clear. Let President Ruto and his administration scrap off the Cabinet Assistant Secretary positions. Let him do away with the housing levy.
The President must give us a proper and detailed audit of the public debt as demands article 35 of our constitution which grants us the right to access information.
If indeed we shall confirm that there are loans that we need to pay back as a country, let him give us China's paybill, we shall pay by ourselves," said Omwansa.
