153 wraps of Indian hemp recovered from 17-year-old teenager during raid on his hideout
According to the Borno State Police Command in a statement on its X handle today, January 20, 2025, one hundred and fifty three wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered from a 17-year-old teenager during raid on his hideout by men of the command.
The state police command announced the arrest in the statement posted on Monday night, saying the teenager, Hassan Mohammed, was arrested by operatives of the command when they conducted a raid on his hideout at the Bulabulin area of Maiduguri, the state capital.

According to the command, when the raid was conducted, the teenager was found with the 153 wraps of the Indian hemp and he was unable to explain how he came about the items. He was thereafter promptly arrested.
The command added that he had given more useful information to the police operatives while the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for more investigation.
He is also expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation into his nefarious activities.
The state police command has been grappling with the activities of various criminal groups, including terrorists, kidnappers, armed robbers, among others, terrorizing residents of various parts of the state. Some of those arrested had been charged to courts.
