According to the report from the Vanguard, the special adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga affirms that the 2023 presidential election, conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), was both free and fair, rejecting the notion that foreign countries' validation is necessary to legitimize the outcome.
Bayo Onanuga who belongs to the All Progressives Congress (APC) party, reiterates his firm belief that the election was fair and insists that his party won the election legitimately, without any electoral irregularities or outside interference.
Bayo Onanuga said this while reacting to the US report that was released yesterday which says that the 2023 election reflects the majority view of Nigerians
He said, "INEC conducted a free and fair election. We don’t need any foreign country to validate or make our election free and fair. The report doesn’t require any validation. As far as we are concerned, it was a free and fair election. We (the All Progressives Congress) won the election."
