South African Police Service members are in the process of arresting suspects who committed a robbery at Capitec Bank at Voortrekker street in Alberton.
Earlier Today, Wednesday, 3 July 2024, the suspects robbed the bank and stole an undisclosed amount of cash as well as valuables from customers, police were alerted about the incident and they swiftly responded to the scene.
The suspects attempted to flee by going on top of the roof and got stuck, a police helicopter has been summoned to the scene to guard them and make sure they don't run away. No injuries or fatalities have been reported at this stage.
The suspects will be arrested on a charge of business robbery and possibly for being in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, further investigation on this matter is still ongoing and more details will be provided as soon as more information is made available.
