Premier league giants Arsenal have activated the 27m buy option on goalkeeper David Raya loan contract from Brentford.

The Spain international spent last season on loan to the Gunners with the intention of adding competition to Aaron Ramdale but has since cemented his place as first choice goalkeeper ahead of the England international, who has lost the faith of manager Mikel Arteta as his starting goalkeeper.Raya who has been praised by the manager for his ability to play out from the back, a quality which the Arsenal manager appreciates in his team, has been immense for the Gunners since his loan move. Winning the Premier leagues Golden glove outrightly with 18 clean sheets, and to add to that, he conceded a league low 16 goals. Though his defense might have been a huge helping hand in gaining those achievement, but he no doubt played his part.

The Spaniard is now on international duty with Spain, where he's the second choice keeper behind Valencia's Unai Simon. But he did start and keep a clean sheet in their group game against Albania. But would be hoping for more game time as Spain face Germany later in the Quarterfinals.
