In a recent statement, Elderstatesman Dr. Chike Obidigbo has called on politicians, especially those from the South-East, to avoid worsening the troubles of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), as reported by DAILY POST.

Dr. Obidigbo stated that the Biafra agitation has progressed beyond Nnamdi Kanu.

He pointed out that other elements have joined the struggle, driving it further than even Kanu had expected.

He believes that the dream of Biafra remains hindered by the lack of involvement from the elites, excluding imposed leaders and greedy political elites, in the struggle.

He noted that without the support of these powerful nations, the struggle will continue until Biafra gets the referendum that IPOB has been demanding.

Dr. Obidigbo highlighted the complexities surrounding the Biafra movement and the need for general approach to addressing the demands of IPOB.

He called for action, underlining the importance of international involvement and the need for a referendum to achieve lasting peace.

“It seems that all that is hindering the actualisation of the dream of Biafra is the lack of involvement of the elites- excluding imposed leaders and greedy political elites- in the struggle."

“Genuine efforts to free Kanu should be directed at the NSA as well as the Ambassadors of Britain, USA and Ambassadors of some well-meaning, and Influential countries like China, Russia, etc."

“Without the buy-in of those powerful nations, the struggle will surely continue, until Biafra gets the referendum that IPOB has been demanding, however they get it."

“If Kanu is released on political grounds, without holding a referendum as IPOB demands, the struggle will most likely continue, thereby rendering elusive or delaying further the much sought after peace,” he said.
