Former Senator Shehu Sani has shared his thoughts on the recent visit of Malam Mamman Daura, President Muhammadu Buhari's nephew, to the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar, in Daura, Katsina State. Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the Senate, expressed his views in a post on his official X handle.

While acknowledging that the visit could be a harmless Sallah homage, Sani suggested that if the visit had political undertones, it would be a challenging and futile endeavour, likening it to "trekking in the Sahara.".

The visit, which took place at the Daurama Palace in Daura, was also attended by former President Muhammadu Buhari, who paid Sallah homage to the Emir.

The occasion has sparked interest and analysis among political observers, with many seeking to understand the motivations and implications of the visit.

According to him, "If the Daura visit is a sallah homage, that's okay. If it’s a political mission, it’s like trekking in the Sahara."
