The Kenyan government broke its silence tonight, sending a strong evening message to all retailers strategically positioned within Kenyan borders.

Speaking through the Kenyan Competition Authority today, July 3, 2024, the Kenyan government slapped significant fines on businesses found to be selling inferior commodities to their consumers.

According to the Kenyan government, retailers across the country that are discovered to be selling substandard merchandise to their clients would face a Ksh10 million fine if found guilty.

The Kenyan government has also required supermarkets to swap any goods or products that do not meet market standards for their clients.

If a certain supermarket serves its customers with a substandard product or products, the Kenyan government has instructed all Kenyans to file a complaint with the Competition Authority.
