Militias Kill Two in Taraba Community

Suspected militias killed two people in Gbuo village, Akate Ward, Donga Local Government Council of Taraba State. The attack occurred while farmers were working in the area, according to Chief Ugondo Uma, the traditional ruler of the Tiv ethnic group in Donga Council. He called for increased security measures to prevent such incidents in the future. The state police command reiterated its commitment to combating criminal activities in the state.

While some aspirants expressed support for the party's efforts, others, including Senator Jimoh Ibrahim and Chief Olusola Oke, left the meeting without commenting on the outcome.

Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway: Demolition for first 3km begins Saturday

The Federal Government announced that demolition of structures within the first three kilometers of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will commence on Saturday, April 27. This decision aims to clear the designated right of way for the project. Property owners who received demolition notices are urged to address their concerns at the Federal Ministry of Works secretariat before the demolition begins. The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, spanning 700 kilometers and connecting Lagos to Cross River, is estimated to cost N15 trillion, with each kilometer costing N4 billion.
