The president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has reportedly been scolded by Chekwas Okorie, a former chair of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, for reducing the extravagant lifestyle of government officials, according to Punch Newspaper.

He found it extremely insulting that Nigerian lawmakers and heads of state flaunt Nigeria's shared heritage. Their callous disregard for public sentiment, he claimed, is palpable.
He acknowledged the president's challenging economic condition and the limitations imposed on him, but praised the president for his courageous response. He further remarked that President Tinubu is a safe haven for Nigeria. Even if it hurts right now, he sees a bright future for Nigeria. He cautioned the president against favouritism as well.
