The former Emohua LGA Chairman, Chidi Lloyd, has shared his thoughts on the recent ruling by the Appeal Court concerning the dispute involving the House of Assembly in Rivers State.

During an interview with TVC News, he clarified that Martins Amaewhule and other individuals were not permitted to show themselves as lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly according to an order made by Justice Wale of the State High Court.

According to Lloyd, the appointment of Oko Jumbo, a pro-Governor Siminalayi Fubara's lawmakers speaker, followed Edison Ehie's shift to the Chief of Staff post. This lawsuit was the outcome of the court ruling.

Lloyd expressed disapproval of the prevalent inclination among certain persons to propagate inaccurate commentary regarding the continuing issue in Rivers State. He said that this is frequently distorted to conform to their own prejudices.

He expressed worry that many people do not truly comprehend the legal nuances of the problem, even if they possess law degrees. Lloyd claimed that Justice Wale's involvement was a crucial turning point in the assembly issue.

In Lloyd's words, "Justice Wale of the State High Court gave an order that stopped Martins Amaewhule and others from parading themselves as members of the Rivers State House of Assembly."

"Justice Wale's order gave rise to the appointment of Oko Jumbo, who masqueraded as a speaker. But you see, the law is not emotional, and it does not see through the emotions of people."

"The law sees through its own eyes. And for those who say that the Court of Appeal just said that the Local Court has no jurisdiction, it is a vacuous claim."
