Things are slowly and gradually shifting as far as the backing of Mount Kenya region towards President William Samoei Ruto iw concerned. The region that played a key and pivotal role in the election of Dr Ruto as the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya has now somehow been rocked with uncertainty and regrets.

There are growing perception and it is indeed evident that partnership and cordial working relationship that was manifested between President William Samoei Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua is seemingly waning and vanishing.

There have been an outcry by leaders allied to Gachagua regarding fishy plans to have their man axed as Ruto's Deputy come 2027. Mr Gachagua has too shown signs of brokering a political truce with former President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, something that is signalling discontent within Kenya Kwanza quarters.

But now setting the record straight regarding what might expire in the political arena in the coming days, Nyeri County Governor and Gachagua's key ally, Mutahi Kahiga is now asserting that Mount Kenya region regrets their voting decision in the 2022 general elections.

The tough spoken governor wandered and regrereted not heeding to the advice of Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta of supporting Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition candidate and former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga for presidency.

This latest change of heart by key leaders and residents from the vote rich Mount Kenya region is likely to trigger an unexpected paradigm shift in the political arena ahead of the 2027 general elections.
