In a troubling incident, a shopkeeper in Nairobi is struggling to recover from the aftermath of a raid on her CBD store by demonstrators opposed to the Finance Bill. Elsy Raphael, the owner of the store, has reported a significant loss of over KSh 600, 000 worth of shoes that were stolen by the looters.
According to Elsy, the group of demonstrators broke into her store and made off with her entire shoe inventory.
The situation is particularly devastating as some of the remaining shoes are now unsellable, as they are missing their matching pairs. Elsy expressed her distress, stating, " I' ve been indoors for three days thinking of where to start. "
Despite the overwhelming setback, Elsy remains hopeful that the perpetrators can be identified and held accountable.
