Manchester United flop ‘needs time’ to adapt despite being at club for two years

Manchester United winger Antony has been defended by former Liverpool star Ryan Babel, who believes the Brazilian needs more time to adapt to the Premier League, according to Metro. Despite being at the club for almost two years, Antony has struggled to make an impact, scoring just one goal and providing one assist in 27 league games this season.

Babel, who played with Antony at Ajax, thinks that the 24-year-old has learned from his mistakes and will come back stronger next season. "A player like Antony needs time to adapt in England," Babel told Ladbrokes Fanzone. "He's 24 now, and I think he learned a lot - the hard way - this season. The gap between Holland and the Premier League is massive."

Antony joined United in 2022 for a hefty £86m fee, but his performances have been far from impressive. He has faced criticism for his lack of productivity on the pitch and was recently seen goading Coventry City players in the FA Cup.
