According to Daily Post, The Osun State Police Command has arrested Damilola Olatunji, aged 22, for alleged conspiracy, murder, membership in an unlawful society, and unlawful possession of prohibited firearms. Olatunji's arrest followed a fatal clash between rival cult groups - Aiye and Eiye confraternities - in the Oja-Oba area of Osogbo.

According to police spokesperson Yemisi Opalola, the incident occurred in May 2024. The clash involved the Aiye confraternity led by Oyeyemi Olalekan, known as "Emir," and the Eiye cultists led by Yinka, also called Y.K, along with the Egbatedo Boys. The skirmish resulted in gunfire before police intervened, leading to one casualty.

Opalola revealed that during interrogation, Olatunji admitted to being a member of the Aiye Confraternity under Emir's leadership. He disclosed his role as the group's armourer and guided investigators to an uncompleted building in Agoro Area, Osogbo, where various incriminating items were concealed.

The police spokesperson mentioned that Olatunji also provided names of other members of the unlawful society, including Adigun, second-in-command to Emir, Ashipa, Saheed, Baloo, Ajebo, Yinka, Muideen, Gbomolade, Jide, Emmanuel, Tunde, Ayo, Fele, and others who remain at large. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend them.

During the operation, the police recovered significant items, including four pump action guns, three cut-to-size Beretta guns, a locally made pistol, a jackknife, ten cutlasses, and thirty-three rounds of live cartridges.

Additional arrests included Adegboye Opeyemi, 37, found in possession of a human skull, and Aderibigbe Opeyemi, 24, apprehended for armed robbery and attempted murder. The police assured that upon completion of investigations, Olatunji and other suspects will be prosecuted accordingly.
