Minimum Wage: NYSC DG Announces Fresh "Allowee" Package for NYSC Members, Details Emerge

According to a report from DailyTrust Independent, President Bola Tinubu's administration has announced that National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members will receive an increase in their monthly allowance to match the new minimum wage, pending approval by the National Assembly.

This announcement was made by NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Y.D. Ahmed, during his visit to the Ogun State NYSC orientation camp on Saturday, July 6.

According to Daily Independent, Brigadier General Ahmed assured corps members that they would be included in the new minimum wage agreement.

During his address to the 2,762 Batch 'B' Stream I corps members at the Ogun State camp, he praised their enthusiasm and encouraged them to embrace the discipline and camaraderie fostered by the camp's regimented environment.

He also cautioned corps members against posting unauthorized pictures of camp activities on social media, noting that three members had already been suspended for violating this rule.

Additionally, Brigadier General Ahmed warned against taking unapproved journeys during their service year, emphasizing that the scheme's priority is to ensure the safe return of all corps members to their homes and families at the end of their service.
