According to Vanguard, Judith Iwu is urging the Nigerian government to devise concrete strategies to support the entertainment industry, particularly Nollywood. She's also calling on the Emeka Rollas-led actors’ guild to position itself strategically to better serve its members, especially amidst the prevailing economic challenges.

Expressing concern over recent deaths in Nollywood, Judith Iwu emphasized the importance of continuous prayers for the industry's well-being. The tragic passing of figures like Mr. Ibu and Junior Pope underscores the urgent need for improved welfare conditions within the sector.

Reflecting on the government's role, she recalled President Goodluck Jonathan's initiative to include Nollywood in the national budget and construct a film village in Lagos, which unfortunately didn't materialize under his successor. Uncertainty looms over the government's plans to uplift the Nigerian film industry without robust measures to fortify it and prioritize welfare, she cautioned.

Judith Iwu highlighted the toll the challenging economic landscape takes on actors, leading many to overwork themselves to support their families. She pointed out the unhealthy lifestyle habits prevalent in the industry, including late-night shoots, poor dietary habits, and alcohol consumption, which contribute to health deterioration and premature deaths.

Addressing malicious practices within the industry, Judith recounted her personal experience with poisoning on set, underscoring the need for unity and fairness among actors. She encouraged actors to invest wisely in sustainable ventures and prioritize self-care to avoid burnout and health issues.

In advocating for improved welfare and professional development, Judith stressed the importance of actors seeking further training and refining their skills. This, she believes, will not only elevate the quality of productions but also enhance actors' overall well-being and livelihoods.
