Wike Is Opening Too Many Battlefronts, He Should Focus On 2027 Than Fighting A Girl —Reno Omokri

In a recent statement, Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has voiced his concerns regarding the ongoing fight between the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) senator, Ireti Kingibe, and the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike.

Omokri, in his cautionary message reported by DAILY POST, urged Wike to avoid engaging in multiple fights.

Instead, he suggested that Wike should concentrate on supporting President Bola Tinubu's efforts to secure a victory in the 2027 presidential election within the FCT.

The fight came when Kingibe criticized Wike for focusing on infrastructural projects rather than addressing the immediate needs of the FCT's residents.

According to Kingibe, the people of the FCT felt neglected and unimpressed by Wike’s focus on infrastructure, which they perceived as not directly beneficial to them.

This criticism prompted response from Wike, who warned that Kingibe’s political future was at risk, implying that she might not retain her senatorial seat in the upcoming 2027 elections.

As a result of this ongoing tension, Omokri stepped in, advising Wike to stop fighting Kingibe.

In a recent statement posted on his X account, Omokri underlined the importance of unity and strategic focus.

He recommended that Wike prioritize the general objective of ensuring President Tinubu’s success in the next election over personal fight.

“Wike is opening too many battlefronts. He should learn how to pick and choose his battles. At worst, Ireti Kingibe is just an irritant. As FCT Minister, she has minimal ability to do you any actual harm beyond nuisance value."

“You are already fighting an obstinate foe in Rivers. Why will you leave the elephant you are carrying on your head to use your toe to kill an ant? What if you slip and fall?"

“You are threatening her that she will not return. First of all, that is undemocratic. But even if Wike’s threat to stop her reelection was not undemocratic, how many ruling parties have won in the FCT? The FCT traditionally votes for opposition parties. Buhari lost the FCT in 2015 and 2019."

“President Tinubu lost it in 2023. Should Wike not be more concerned about winning FCT votes in 2027 than fighting a girl?"

“If you constantly make enemies everywhere you go, perhaps other people are not the problem. What is in Ireti Kingibe that you cannot transcend her by ignoring her?” he said.
