Olaka Nwogu, a former senator from Rivers South East, has accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of causing the political instability in Rivers State. Nwogu, who claimed in an interview on Channels Television's Morning Brief that Fubara is "fanning all these issues," is criticizing Fubara's actions.

Nwogu questioned Fubara's decision to name a new Speaker and Majority Leader unilaterally, pointing out the inconsistencies in Fubara's actions and asking, "He's attempting to make three persons to form Speaker and Majority Leader, where does it happen?"

Rivers War:Olaka Nwogu 'Truth Be told, the victim in all these has been the FCT Minister'

Nwogu defended Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, saying that he is "facing his job and he's doing a good job in Abuja." By contrast, Nwogu stated, "Here in Rivers State, nothing is happening," implying that Fubara's activities are to blame for the impasse in politics in the state.

What he expressed;

"You send them a communication, but the next day you declare they're not assembly members and you won't submit a budget to the State Assembly." You address them in one area while criticizing them in another. It's him who is pursuing these problems. In Abuja, the FCT Minister is going about his business and doing a fantastic job of it. Nothing is going on in Rivers State. Suddenly, the Governor overrides the members of the State Assembly. Right now
