According to The Cable, Nigerian actress Sola Sobowale has addressed past rumors that falsely claimed she had been arrested for drug trafficking in Saudi Arabia. During an interview on the 'King of Talk' podcast with Teju Babyface, she recounted the challenges she faced after moving to the United Kingdom for work. The rumors, which escalated to the extent of reporting her death, were a significant source of confusion and distress.

Sobowale clarified these misconceptions, sharing her surprise at people's reactions when she returned to Nigeria. Many were shocked to see her alive, confronting her with the bizarre rumors of her alleged demise. She recounted an instance where she had to reintroduce herself to a former acquaintance who didn't recognize her at first, highlighting the surreal nature of her experiences.

The actress also discussed her reasons for moving abroad, emphasizing that her primary motivation was securing a better future for her children. Despite her success in Nigeria, Sobowale prioritized her family's long-term wellbeing over immediate fame, underscoring the sacrifices she was willing to make for the sake of her children's prospects.

She said: “It was confusing because my tag read ‘Olu’. Because I did not put Olusola. Especially one of the top Ogas looked at me and said ‘have I met you before’ and I said no.

“Then he looked at me and walked away. After I saw him in the office, I went there and asked may I know you sir and he said his name is Seye Fadipe. And I said yes, you have met me before. I said my name is Sola Sobowale. You met me on the television.

“He looked at me and said ‘are you crazy?’ I said I am not crazy. He asked what are you doing? You are up there in Nigeria. But there was something better than that. My future. My children are my future. There will be a time when the energy that Sola Sobowale will no longer be there. Then it is what you sow that you reap.
