It's disconcerting to have such a large gap between Dali, the Public Protector, and evidence leaders in terms of funding. Dali appears to have received an unfair amount of public cash while evidence leaders labour carefully to explain their cases. This is similar to stealing from the public, as valuable resources that could be put to better use elsewhere have been diverted instead.

Mkhwebane's wasteful use of public funds on an army of attorneys has made the situation much worse. These resources were frittered away on lawsuits rather than serving their original purpose. Mkhwebane was ultimately fired despite the excessive spending, prompting taxpayers to question the wisdom of this spending.

Disappointingly, Dali has increased rates in response to increased funding, demonstrating a lack of ethical responsibility. The lack of accountability and mismanagement of public funds raises serious concerns about this action.

To prevent future financial misconduct, Parliament must take a stricter approach to scrutinising the selection of the Public Protector. It is essential to monitor the expenditure of public monies closely to make sure they are being put to good use.
