One Arsenal man is set to sign a new contract

As the transfer window brings speculation regarding potential incomings and outgoings which could be taking place in the current months, one of the most important things a club can do is retain their stars.

Both on and off the pitch, the Gunners have been flourishing in recent seasons, with Mikel Arteta being lauded as the man who changed the fortunes of the North London club.

Despite agonisingly missing out on the Premier League title by two points on the final day, Arsenal will believe they can go all the way with the correct business this summer.

However, arguably the most important deal that the club could do this summer is retaining their manager, Arteta.

The Spaniard has been learning the game from an incredibly young age, as he went through the ranks at Barcelona’s successful youth academy, La Masia.

During his time at Blaugrana, the 42 year-old formed a friendship with Andrés Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez and Pep Guardiola, whilst being under the guidance of former Manchester United boss, Louis van Gaal.

After moving across Europe in a 17 year playing career, where he played for the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Real Sociedad and Rangers, the Spaniard finished his career at his current home, The Emirates.
